Happy New Year? Well yeah, it is a bit late for that. But the year is off to a good start, as I've released my three short stories. The Sound of Money, The Pitch and Fallowed Ground. The amount of learning I've had to do post-launch is incredible, and I'm still going. This PR nonsense is hard. I've also learnt a lot for my writing too, most noticeably from The Pitch.

When I was writing The Sound of Money and The Pitch I saw them both as entrances into my superhero world, and I made a nod in The Pitch to something that happens in The Sound of Money. Those that read it before launch had read them both, the nod did exactly what it was meant too. Unfortunately, out in the great wide world I hadn't thought of people just reading The Pitch, and for those that do there's a plot point that just seems to get forgotten. I'm torn, it was meant to be nothing more than a hint at a bigger world, something that's explored with Nate of The Sound of Money. Part of me knows what Gavin's sequel is meant to be, but I'm starting to think I might need to do something else that addresses that plot point.

24 December 2012 - End of Year update

Since I'm pretty terrible at updating this page (the blog is a far better place for timely updates) I thought that as well as all the usual pages I'd do a general update post here. So apart from the usual BeefJack articles what else have I done? I'm the regular host on BeefJack's podcast, which has turned out to be a lot of fun. We're nearly 20 episodes in, though we're doing a bit of a rejig now we've learnt a few things.

I also guest starred in Spilt Milk Studio's Milky Q&A episode 18. Filmed in the exotic location of my car, I was going to make the joke that it doubles as my audition for Top Gear, but having just watched the first minute again Smith already made that joke.

There's also going to be a big surprise or three in the next few days. Stay tuned.

2 March 2012

Okay, the place has changed quite a bit. Over the last two years I've slowly gotten more and more annoyed with how crappy this place looked, and some of the content on here didn't belong. When I made the big change and trying to become a writer I knew it was time to update it. Slowly I've chipped away at it and it's still not finished but I got to a point where I couldn't bear the old version being up any more. None of the content is new, just moved about.
